Increase Vitality with Breathing Techniques & Asana- Yoga with Kari

This class is available for both in-person or zoom attendance. All levels welcome.

Breathing helps the body to rest and digest. Breathing deeply and mindfully takes us out of the flight-fright-freeze-fight response that causes blood to move from the gut to other larger muscles in body.  Being in a constant flight-fright-freeze-fight response interferes with digestion and weakens the immune system and can increase inflammation. 

In this class, we will practice pranic breathing techniques (alternate nostril breathing) to encourage slow, mindful breathing to help the body relax so the nervous system feels calm. We will also connect to the body’s gut-brain axis, by practicing diaphragm breathing and abdominal breathing, also called belly breathing, to bring more concentrated blood into the belly and gut area of the body to improve digestion. 

We practice in a safe way that encourages alignment, self-love, curiosity, body awareness, loving-kindness, and healing.
